Last Writer Wins
Conflicts resolve by keeping the highest timestamp. Replicas do converge — and the losing write is discarded with no record that a choice was made.

Eventual Consistency
Replicas converge if updates stop — with no bound on how long, and no statement about what a reader sees in the meantime. Both gaps matter in design.
